A Golden Day

Yesterday was such a beautiful day.  Just the right day for travelling which was good because that is what we had planned to do.  We'd arranged to visit relatives in Nottinghamshire and ended up at Rufford Abbey Country Park for lunch and a stroll around.

The sunlight falling  on the old ruin was so beautiful

It cast a golden glow over the building's soft stone

and over the trees out in the park

I was entranced by the light and shade and the colours in the ancient walls

Although scarves and gloves were needed it was unseasonably warm
